Early Childhood Developmental Screening Program provides free screening for delays or problems with behavior, speech and language development, motor skills, vision, hearing, and cognition to any child from birth to age 5 in Hillsborough County. Recognized as a “Best Practice” by the Florida Department of Education, knowledgeable professionals use a combination of telephone, site-based, and home-based screening to serve approximately 1,500 children each year, referring them for further evaluation and/or to community services when needed. Care Options facilitates inclusion of children with special needs by providing training and technical support to child care providers in Hillsborough County. Care Options also staffs the community's Inclusion Warm Line, a resource and assistance phone line for child care providers who are serving young children with special needs. The Inclusion Warm Line number is (813) 837-7903. Kid Connection Network provides a system of information, referral, and access to early childhood services in Hillsborough County. Working collaboratively with 2-1-1 Tampa Bay and other community agencies, Kid Connection assists families of children birth to age 8 and expectant mothers in identifying resources, navigating systems, and linking to appropriate services.
